The Norpro Meat Grinder, Mincer and Pasta Maker (model NP151) is a hand-crank grinder for small batches. It comes with coarse and fine screens, three pasta attachments (rigatoni, spaghetti and linguine), a sausage funnel, and a suction base with a locking key. It sold for $64.99 on Amazon in October 2026, with 3.7 out of 5 from about 1,300 ratings.
Earlier versions of this page called it the “LHS” grinder, but the product it described is the Norpro. LHS makes a different, cheaper manual grinder, covered further down.
We haven’t run this grinder ourselves. This review is built from Norpro’s published specifications and verified owner reviews on Amazon, and it says which is which.

What’s Great About It
- No power needed, and small enough for any cupboard
- Owners find it quick to set up and easy to clean
- The suction base locks tight on a smooth counter, according to several owners
- Makes pasta as well as ground meat
What’s Not So Great
- Meat has to be cut small, and it’s slow for big batches; one owner says it’s not for more than 40 to 50 lbs
- Plastic: one owner’s plastic ring cracked after seven months
- A 3.7 average is low compared with electric grinders
Customer Feedback and Reviews
The NP151 averaged 3.7 out of 5 from about 1,300 Amazon ratings when we checked. Owners who grind small amounts of lean meat, cooked food or vegetables are mostly happy and say it’s cheaper than any electric option. The complaints are about effort and plastic parts wearing out. The LHS Manual Grinder Alternative
The LHS Manual Meat Grinder is a different product: a plastic hand-crank grinder with stainless steel blades and a suction base, at $25.99 in October 2026. It averages 4.0 out of 5 from about 5,500 ratings, but reviews are mixed on its suction: some say it holds well, others that it won’t stick to anything. It has no pasta attachments.

Our Recommendation
For occasional small batches, or if you also want to make pasta, the Norpro NP151 does the job without electricity. If you want the cheapest possible manual grinder, the LHS costs about $40 less. If you grind meat regularly, an electric grinder like the Gourmia GMG525 costs about the same as the Norpro and is far faster.
